After the natives attacked a carriage delivering produce to the neighboring town, the male villagers held a meeting to discuss the situation and find a way to protect themselves. Consequently, the relations between the natives and the farmers soured. However, due to the US Army overhunting the buffalo and the completion of the railway, the natives barely had any food. Baldroy was convinced that he would live an ordinary, happy life, and grow old there. He became a farmer, much like his ancestors, and married a rancher named Joanna. In addition to a fondness for cooking and warfare, he is proud of his ability to repair electronics. He keeps high-powered weapons on hand and tends to use a flamethrower or a blowtorch in order to cook food as swiftly as possible, which usually results in disaster. Having served in war, he is accustomed to hard work and a fast pace. His innate fear of death and his unwavering resolve to continue living despite hardships have earned him the reputation of being an "invincible private soldier" on the battlefield, and constituted the reason behind Sebastian's recruitment of him. He remains calm and sensible even during dire situations and focuses on how to proceed rather than succumb to his emotions.
